'How a child-centered process can lead to outcomes more relevant to a broader spectrum of reader ?
This question was the main leitmotif of the Kidz Krew adventure as my final MA project.
It is a newspaper made by children. This one was created through a series of 7 workshops to provoke a creative synergy between young newspaper makers in collaboration with professional journalists and graphic designers. Each workshop focussed on specific tasks and procedures in the gathering, assessing, selecting and representation of events as they transpired in the real and imaginary world.
This newspaper has been made possible thanks to the great collaboration 24 pupils aged 9 from Year 5, Mr Phill Collins, Mrs Marie Corbett from Invicta Primary School, Paul Whelan from BBC NEWSROUND, and Dr Howard Fine child psycholgist at the London Royal Hospital. And also a big THANK YOU to David Lemonnier, Clément Deneux and Jean Robert (aka Yashu), for their magical graphic contribution, patience and great support along the project.
